Grog Speaks

Miscellaneous ramblings by an amused observer of life in our times. I'm not certain anyone reads this, and I think I prefer it that way.

Gas pains

I confess that the gas price increases are not devastating my lifestyle, since I tend to drive only about 10-15 miles on a typical day and that is well under a gallon for my little two seater. I have to also confess that I get some quiet satisfaction knowing that the owners of all those monstrous SUVs, who needed to sit up high and mighty towering over me in traffic, are crying all the way to the gas station. There is justice.

Maneating Lions

CNN today had an item about how a man charged with putting water in the cage of a group of lions at a South African game farm was eaten by the six lions in the cage. They made a point of saying all that was found were fingers and intestines.

Now I know this is a very tragic event, but in my odd take on the incident I asked myself why would the lions not eat the fingers or intestines. All I could imagine is one lion looking at a younger lion about to eat the fingers and saying "Don't eat those. You don't know where they've been." And I imagine another lion starting to work on the intestines, spitting them out and saying "This tastes like shit!"

If it was your family member, would you want to bury the lion's poop? That's a tough one.

Hyperthymestic Syndrome - coming soon

... If I can remember.
