Grog Speaks

Miscellaneous ramblings by an amused observer of life in our times. I'm not certain anyone reads this, and I think I prefer it that way.

Wait a minute Mr. Postman

Since I came here to update my prognostication on earthquakes (below), I figured I'd bring a couple other topics up to date too.

I've added a couple more songs lately to my kayaking repertoire:
If I Only Had a Brain, from the Wizard of Oz.
Good Day Sunshine, by the Beatles
What a Wonderful World, by Louie Armstrong
Unforgetable, by Nat King Cole, but not close in terms of quality
Rain on the Roof, by the Lovin' Spoonful,

I went to a party hosted by my former brother-in-law and found myself singing House of the Rising Sun to the gathering because the live band he had could only replicate the music but didn't know the words. I think I did well enough that I wouldn't mind hearing it. A couple, or more, glasses of wine contributed to my willingness.

As for rowing, I have been merely looking at my scull lately, but keep pledging not to give up. Two weeks of record breaking cold, by Miami standards, have even kept me out of my kayak since the new year began.

I think I'll resist the temptation to discuss the presence of my pregnant step-daughter and her new husband so prominently in my life. If you can't say something nice...
